Philip focuses on all aspects of business law and real estate law with emphasis on small business entrepreneurs. Philip practiced at a large national firm in Calgary from 2003 to 2006 conducting lending and acquisition transactions. From 2006 to its sale in 2009, Philip was a founder, shareholder and officer at a private run-of-river hydropower developer and was responsible for legal and finance activities. This included securing $5.0 million of seed and venture capital. Philip has recently joined BTM and, in addition to business law, provides valuable entrepreneurial experience. He has a Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering (UBC), a Masters degree in Civil Engineering (UBC) and a Law degree from Dalhousie University. He has two young children and enjoys playing squash when he can find the time.
